This is a trumpet with a sterling silver bell and
wonderful gold inlay with some of the finest engraving you will see. F. A.
Reynolds used to work for King and went into business on his own. He also
worked with Mr. Roth in Cleveland Ohio. They had the "Roth Reynolds
Instrument Company" Both Roth and Reynolds made a line of school
instruments. The F. A. Reynolds company was formed in the 1930's by the man who
headed up the Olds factory in the 50's. Reynolds also made a line of custom
horns that were individually
produced for famous Jazz players. Reynolds produced brass
instruments for the US military during World War II. In 1964 the company was
acquired by Norlin Music and production was merged with Olds.
He also made a matching cornet.. A friend of mine had one like this sold it for over $1500 several years ago. Harry "Sweets" Edison played a Reynolds.
